1. Information We Collect

When you create an account and use ScoutYT, we collect only the minimal information needed to operate your dashboard and send you alerts:

• Account Details: Your name, email address, password (stored securely as a cryptographic hash), or Google account profile if you sign in with Google.
• Watchlist & Preferences: The public YouTube @handles or channels you choose to track, your delivery schedule (daily or weekly), and briefing times.
• Billing Details: If you upgrade to a paid plan, your payment information is handled directly by our payment processor. ScoutYT never sees or stores your full credit card number.

2. What We Never Access or Collect

ScoutYT is built from the ground up to respect creator autonomy:

• We do NOT request YouTube channel manager permissions or studio logins.
• We do NOT access your unpublished drafts, private videos, revenue, or private analytics.
• We do NOT modify anything on your YouTube account or any channel you track.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the data we collect solely to provide and improve ScoutYT services:

• Sending you email notifications when a tracked competitor swaps a thumbnail or changes a title.
• Delivering your scheduled daily or weekly email digests.
• Personalizing your Watchlist, Live Feed, and Saved library.
• Keeping your account secure and preventing unauthorized access.

4. Public YouTube Data & Third Parties

ScoutYT tracks public YouTube video information (titles, public thumbnail image bytes, and public view counts) using official YouTube data feeds and public web protocols.

We do not share your personal information with third parties except trusted service providers who help us operate ScoutYT (such as Cloudflare for secure cloud hosting, transactional email providers for notifications, and payment processors for subscriptions). All providers are bound by strict confidentiality standards.

5. Data Security & Storage

We use modern encryption standards (TLS/HTTPS in transit and encrypted databases at rest) to safeguard your account. Your watchlist and preference data remain active while your account is open. If you delete a tracked channel or close your account, that data is removed from our active systems.

6. Your Rights & Choices

You maintain complete control over your account at all times:

• Manage Watchlist: Add or remove tracked channels anytime from your dashboard.
• Notification Settings: Adjust or mute email digests from your account settings.
• Account Deletion: You can request complete deletion of your account and data at any time by emailing us.
